What clients say

Care that people stick with

Most people arrive having already tried a lot of advice. What changes things is a plan built around your actual life — and someone to adjust it with you.

“I'd been told to 'just avoid trigger foods' for years without anyone explaining which ones. Qaswara walked me through the full FODMAP process, including the reintroduction part nobody had ever mentioned. I eat far more variety now than when I started.”
Anna M.IBS · Wellington
“No lectures, no handing me a meal plan and sending me off. We looked at what I actually eat and changed a few things at a time. My HbA1c came down and I didn't have to give up the food I like.”
Rangi T.Type 2 diabetes · Lower Hutt
“I was overwhelmed by conflicting pregnancy advice online. Qaswara sorted out what actually mattered and what I could stop worrying about, and got my iron sorted properly. The video appointments made it easy to fit in.”
Priya S.Pregnancy nutrition · Online, Auckland
“Dinner had become a nightly standoff with our five-year-old. The changes were mostly about how we ran mealtimes rather than the food itself. It took a few weeks, but the tension is gone.”
Jess W.Fussy eating (child) · Porirua
“First dietitian who didn't start with the scales. We focused on protein, fibre and actually eating lunch. My bloods improved before my weight did, which was the point.”
David K.Weight & metabolic health · Wellington
“Practical, specific and grounded in what's actually on the shelves here. The cross-contamination advice for our kitchen made a real difference at home.”
Mere H.Coeliac disease · Online, Palmerston North

Client stories

What the work actually looks like

Three examples of how a plan takes shape over time. Every situation is different, and outcomes vary — these are shared to show the process, not to promise a result.

Six years of unpredictable IBS → A broader diet and symptoms she can predict

Anna, 34

Anna arrived having already cut out gluten, dairy, onion and most vegetables — and still having bad days. We ran the low FODMAP protocol properly: a short, well-supported elimination phase, then a structured challenge schedule that identified fructans and excess fructose as her actual triggers. Everything else went back on the menu. She now knows her own thresholds rather than avoiding whole food groups on suspicion.

Type 2 diabetes, HbA1c 71 mmol/mol → Steadier glucose without cutting out the food he loves

Rangi, 52

Rangi had been told to 'cut carbs' with no further detail, which made family meals difficult and didn't move his numbers. We worked on carbohydrate quality and pairing instead — keeping the rice and the bread, changing the type, the portion and what sat alongside them — plus a proper lunch to stop the late-afternoon crash. His GP reviewed medication alongside the changes.

Nightly mealtime standoffs with a five-year-old → Calmer dinners and a slowly widening list of accepted foods

The W. whānau, 5

Very little of this work was about nutrients. We changed the structure — a set meal and snack rhythm, one familiar food on every plate, and no pressure, bargaining or dessert-as-reward. Repeated neutral exposure did the rest. Accepted foods went from eleven to twenty-six, and more importantly the whole family stopped dreading 6pm.
